Peer Support and Sober Living

The Peer Support and Sober Living team is working to increase awareness and access to peer support and sober living in the greater La Crosse area.

Workgroup leads: Danielle Fortney (navigator@couleerecovery.org) and Rita Von Haden (rita@couleerecovery.org)

Current goals:
  • Educate the community and professionals about peer support specialist/recover coach services in the greater La Crosse area (Coulee Recovery/Independent Living Resources/Next Step for Change)
  • Conduct outreach to include speaking engagements, traditional and SM outreach with topics to include
    • what a peer recovery coach is
    • how to make referrals
    • make connections for those who identify as ready and need recovery support
  • Educate key decision makers of the need to increase the number of sober living beds in the La Crosse community.
  • Promote attention to the need for resources to support women in recovery. (current lack of sober living for women and families)
