Wake Up Call

The "Wake Up Call" is mobile and available for events. The Wake Up Call is a life size exhibit of a teenager’s bedroom with more than 50 red flags that can signal substance abuse. Our goal is to educate parents and other adults who are influential in the lives of youth so they know what seemingly innocent items can actually be an indication of substance abuse, provide resources and encourage positive communication styles. The presentation is for adults 21 years of age and over. Tours are provided by trained guides.

The Wake Up Call is an effort to address substance abuse including tobacco, alcohol, marijuana prescription drugs and the growing opioid and heroin epidemic. La Crosse County Wake Up Call originated in a collaborative effort with Your Choice to Live Inc.

For more information regarding this experience or to host wake up call, contact: Judi Zabel (jzabel@lacrossecounty.org) or Kaycee Irwin (kirwin@lacrossecounty.org)
