Alliance to Heal Prevention Workgroup Information - Cannabis
Why it Matters:
Science tells us the brain does not fully develop until young adults are about 25 years old. As the adolescent brain develops, it is vulnerable to any substance that interferes with neural pathways which regulate emotion, mood, and behavior.
What We Do:
The prevention work group engages with the local community to search further upstream for solutions
that promote healthy behaviors and prevent youth drug and alcohol use.
We are primarily funded through the Drug Free Communities Grant.

Please join us in planning and providing opportunities for parents, faith community, business leaders, law enforcement, healthcare professionals, schools and youth serving organizations to support La Crosse County youth.
We Meet the fourth Wednesday of every month from 9 - 10:30 at Coulee Recovery Center, 911 Ferry St., La Crosse or via Zoom. Contact Kaycee Irwin for the Zoom link or for more information.
Wake Up Call: a life size exhibit of a teenager’s bedroom with more than 50 red flags that can signal substance abuse. Our goal is to educate parents and other adults who are influential in the lives of youth, so they know what seemingly innocent items can actually be an indication of substance abuse, provide resources and encourage positive communication styles. Tours are provided by trained volunteer guides.
